Dr Arup Sen, Consultant Physician in Geriatric, Stroke, and General Internal Medicine at Headland Care Consulting

Dr Arup Sen is a triple-accredited Consultant Physician in Geriatric, Stroke, and General Internal Medicine at University College London Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust (UCLH). His clinical work is divided between University College Hospital (UCH) and the National Hospital for Neurology and Neurosurgery (NHNN) at Queen Square, internationally regarded as the UK's foremost centre for neurological care.

He has over a decade of frontline NHS experience treating older adults with complex medical needs, including stroke, transient ischaemic attack (TIA), frailty, falls, dementia, hypertension, and the long-term consequences of multimorbidity.

Arup trained at St George's, University of London, graduating with distinction in 2010, and holds an intercalated BSc (Honours) in Medical Sciences from UCL. He was admitted to Membership of the Royal College of Physicians (MRCP) in 2013, and now serves as Lead for Quality Improvement in Geriatric Medicine at UCH and as Stroke Clinical Governance Lead at NHNN. He has twice been recognised with the UCLH Celebrating Excellence Award.

Alongside his NHS practice, Arup provides private consultations to residents at several of London's most respected care providers, including Loveday and Kyn. This dual perspective — combining acute hospital medicine with sustained clinical engagement inside premium care settings — gives him a rare insight into where residential and domiciliary care models can be strengthened to better anticipate and respond to the realities of later-life health.

At Headland, Arup contributes to the design of consultant-led, condition-informed care frameworks for premium care providers, helping clinical leadership teams move beyond lifestyle positioning towards a more credible, outcomes-focused model of care.
