Rt Hon Damian Green
Former Deputy Prime Minister and Senior AdvisorDamian Green is Headland Care Consulting’s Senior Adviser for Policy and Parliamentary Affairs.
A former Deputy Prime Minister, former Chair of the APPG on Adult Social Care and current Chair of the Social Care Foundation, he brings extensive experience at the highest levels of government alongside a longstanding commitment to the development of sustainable, high-quality social care systems. At Headland Care Consulting, he strengthens the credibility and authority of our work across both policy and clinical communities, leading parliamentary engagement and supporting the development and promotion of care frameworks.
He regularly chairs discussions and roundtables we convene, bringing together our network of clinicians with senior healthcare professionals, including consultants, GPs and private practitioners. These take place both within Parliament and in areas local to care homes and domiciliary care providers. Through these engagements, he ensures that frontline clinical insight informs wider policy and system-level conversations.
Damian served as a Member of Parliament for over two decades, holding senior ministerial roles including First Secretary of State and Minister for the Cabinet Office. His parliamentary career has focused on public service reform, governance and the development of policy frameworks capable of operating effectively across complex health and care systems.
Alongside his ministerial work, Damian has contributed to shaping the national conversation on adult social care through his role with the Social Care Foundation and his leadership of the APPG on Adult Social Care, giving him a strong understanding of the sector's structural and workforce challenges.
